Further Visualization of Combined Wing Tip and Starting Vortex Systems

Abstract

The combined wing tip and starting vortex systems of a variety of wing platforms have been visualized in a starting flow of constant acceleration. Movie sequences display the initial development of a variety of interesting vortex systems generated by these flow configurations. Vortices always formed closed systems in accordance with Helmholt'z law.
