Mobile agent based collaborative computing

Abstract

"Information processing and collaborative computing over a distributed network of heterogeneous platforms is important in many DOD and civil applications. Usage of agent technologies in this type of distributed computing is rapidly growing. A software agent is a computer based application program component that is capable of executing autonomously to achieve its designated objectives. While static software agents are restricted to operate at one system in its current environment, Mobile Agents (MAs) can move autonomously to different systems in the environment and complete the job that is assigned to them. In this thesis a mobile agent based collaborative and distributed computing framework for network centric information processing and collaboration is presented"--Abstract, page iii.
