Masters Theses

Compliant mechanism synthesis for energy and torque specifications

Abstract

"The objectives of this work are to: a) develop a user-friendly 'Synthesis' software in Matlabʼ for designing rigid-body four-bar and corresponding compliant mechanisms, and create an analysis tool for investigating the sensitivity of rigid-body and compliant mechanism output parameters subject to errors in the input parameters due to manufacturing tolerances; and b) develop a generalized loop-closure multi-precision-position synthesis technique for designing compliant mechanisms employing pseudo-rigid-body four-bar mechanism concepts."--Introduction, page 6.
