My parents own a cabin on a lake in northern Wisconsin. The past few years, we've been able to observe a pair of loons that live on the lake in the summers. I took this shot one day while out fishing on the lake. We didn't catch much, but we got to watch the loons as they fished. In this moment, the loon was washing itself off by dipping down into the water and rustling its wings and feathers, letting the water flow down its back.
