Abstract

Resistance of composite elements at the sheet-concrete interface was determined from a small-scale test. The influence of resistance at the interface, especially the vertical resistance, on the behavior of composite slabs was studied by a finite element method. The results showed that the horizontal shear resistance affected greatly on the capacity of the composite slabs. However, the vertical resistance did not influence much on the capacity and it can be neglected in the analysis.
