General Guidelines

Any changes or exceptions in the below general guidelines must be approved by Scholars' Mine Staff.

General Guidelines:

  1. Scholars' Mine is a repository for scholarly literature, communication, and research results for the Missouri University of Science and Technology faculty, researchers, staff, and students. Materials submitted should be of a scholarly nature or be in support of the scholarly mission of the University.
  2. Materials submitted should be the intellectual property of a Missouri S&T author, department, or the University. With any item under third party copyright (such as a publisher) said publisher must allow self-archiving. If the copyright holder does not allow this, we cannot put up full text of the work.
  3. Materials should be submitted to Scholars' Mine either by one of the authors listed on the material, or by an appointed agent of one of the authors.  Most materials will be processed by Scholars' Mine staff except for student theses and dissertations.
  4. There is no formal limit to the size of items submitted to and stored in Scholars' Mine.  However, for items larger than 20 MB, please consult with Scholars' Mine staff to ensure proper uploading
  5. The Advisory Committee reserves the right to change these guidelines, to make formal policies, or to terminate the project.
  6. Scholars' Mine staff and the Advisory Committee reserve the right to remove items from the Scholars' Mine if notified by a third party of potential copyright infringement. In such cases, authors and communities will be notified.
